Summer Vacation

Friday was my last day of Nana Day Care until September.

This is going to be a busy summer for me. It will be kicked off with our spa weekend for my birthday celebration. I will be taking a canvas embellishment class with Sharon G on August 4. Karen and I will leave for California on August 20 for the Aristeria retreat. I am so excited about this trip. The summer will end with the ANG seminar. I will be taking a class from Sandra Arthur called ladybug teapot.

This week I will be stitching all day everyday on the roof of the Thanksgiving House. I am very close to finishing it and my goal is to have it completed this week.

Here is a picture of my latest stash enhancement.

I am so itching to start this piece but have to stay focused on the house.

Off to continue stitching.

Christmas Came Early This Year

Today my UPS man delivered a HUGE box from Amy's. Jake gets all excited when the UPS man delivers a box. He helped me open it and all he said was "WOW".

The first present was the Frog Poison Bottle with stitch guide and threads.

Next present opened was the Flower Box by Ewe and Eye also with stitch guide and threads.

Next was the stitch guide and threads for the Perfume Bottles. I came home with this canvas from Memphis.

The last thing to open was the Foldi LED Lamp by daylight. I have not had a chance to open it yet but will give you a full report when I do.

Jill wrote me a note telling me that she knows my fingers are itching to start on all my new canvases but the Thanksgiving House comes first. I am now off to work on the shingles on side two of the roof.

Back from Finisher

My name tag for seminar arrived today. I gave it to Ruth to finish for me.
I asked for some bling and my wish was granted. Ruth did a beautiful job finishing my name tag. I have never gotten finishing back from Ruth that was not beautifully done and absolutely magnificent. I LOVE it. Now I have to coordinate my outfits to show it off

Jake decided he had to get into the action too.

Roof Has Shingle Outlines

For those of you who thought I disappeared--I'm back!!

Here's my roof shingles. You know I am not good at posting partial accomplishments, so I had to at least outline all the shingles on the "Amy" rooftop before I could post.

Ashley & I went to Italy last month; it was a fun mother daughter experience. We had a lot of laughs, & I drove about 3000 kilometers, from just north of Naples to Switzerland. Here's a photo of us in Bellagio.

I plan to continue the roof to completion & then move on to the walls. In between will be a few embellishment classes & the ANG seminar.

Laters.

Half of Roof Complete

I just finished half of the roof for the Thanksgiving House. Now I am going to start the other half. I have a rhythm going and I figured I might as well keep on going with the roof. Hopefully this half will go faster.

Jake's Cars Framed

I just picked up Jake's Cars from Stitch by Stitch, who had it custom framed by Mountain Shadow. I am so happy with the way it came out. I got everything I asked for plus more. Cannot wait to see Jake's face when he sees it tomorrow.
This is a Alice Peterson canvas with stitch guide by Amy Bunger and stitching by me and a few stitches by Jake.

New Belt and Pictures from Class

Today my UPS man delivered a belt with buckle that I ordered from The Point Of It All, in Washington, D.C. They are having a Colors of Praise trunk show. As soon as I opened their email, I called and ordered this belt. The colors are just amazing and I cannot wait to start stitching it. Unfortunately, it will have to wait until Saturday when I go to Stitch by Stitch to pull threads. This will be my go to project when I have a few minutes during the day to take a couple of quick stitches.

The belt buckle is not included with the canvas. Susan happened to have a few in the store and I purchased one.

Here are a few pictures of the canvases worked on in Tony's class.

The eye on the fish is totally amazing.

The brim of hat is amazing and it is all about the direction of the stitches.

Tony framed out the area for the name. Love it.

Row houses that are going to be stunning when stitched

A picture of canvases behind the desk in the store.

Some beautiful Atenti bags and more stunning canvases.

Stitch by Stitch is a beautiful store in Larchmont, New York. The store is filled with beautiful canvases and a wonderful selection of threads. The owners, Betty and Madalena, are both extremely friendly and knowledgable. The store is very welcoming and you are always welcomed to come in and stitch. I always fill at home and happy when I am there.

Progress on Thanksgiving Roof

Here is the progress on the roof. I am almost done with half of the roof. I really want to finish this half before I start the walls.

Wish me luck on finishing this half by the end of the week.

Tomorrow I will post more pictures from the class with Tony. Today was day two of the class. I could not attend today due to my responsibilities for Jake.

Jake at the pool. One cool dude.

FABULOUS DAY

Today was just a great day. I took a canvas embellishment class from Tony Minieri at Stitch by Stitch in Larchmont. Tony wrote a great stitch guide for my chicken canvas. I was a happy girl all day watching it come to life

A close up

A look at the whole canvas.

Denise made my day even more special with the wonderful gifts she got me from Italy. I absolutely love them. The best presents ever.

The "snap" tray is from Florence. It is pink patent leather. I just LOVE it. The wooden "laying tool"is from Ponza. Love the shell on top. It is really a stick for your hair but it makes the perfect laying tool.

Wonderful day with friends, stitching and gifts.
