Stitching Over The Weekend

I am happy with my accomplishments over this weekend. Would have liked more time for stitching but I did reach one goal.

Kit 1 of The Tudors is complete. I really enjoyed stitching this section. It was amazing to see each section of the design come together. Amy is doing an amazing job with this piece. It is like putting pieces of fabric together. Looking forward to Kit 2 which arrives this week.

My scissor fob and small matching magnet are for this section of canvas, which is Anne of Cleves. Call me crazy but I got the magnet and fob to match each queen that the canvas represents.

My second project is the Halloween Hooter by Tapestry Fair. This is going to be a fun project. Have not accomplished much but you can get the idea. The section with the number 1 is the Crest and sections 2 and 3 are the face and eyes

Looking forward to doing the eyes.

Today was a very upsetting day for me. We took Jake's crib apart and put it away.
After having it up for three years the room looks so empty. I am sure he is going to be upset when he does not see it. It has been at least a month since he slept in it and he is really too big for it. I am just going to tell him that he is a big boy now and should sleep in a big boy bed. Have to get some car sheets for the big bed now.
Hopefully we will be blessed with another grandchild someday and Jake's crib will be used once more.

What Have I Been Up To?

I have been busy with Jake and trying to get some stitching done in the evenings.
Jake not napping is really taking a toll on me. I am VERY meticulous about my home and Jake being a very active three year old is into touching everything. I think he is finally understanding that we do not touch Nana's furniture. I am totally exhausted when he leaves and have to start cleaning as soon as he walks out the door. Only four weeks until I get my freedom. I love the little guy to death but he totally drains every ounce of energy out of me.

I am almost done with Kit 1 of the Tudors and have also started a new project the Halloween Hooter by Tapestry Fair. Will get pictures up this weekend. I am also still working on egg number six

Today I received a box from Amy.

More scissor fobs. I love these fobs. They are the perfect size, light weight and just enough bling to make you feel special. I think I will get a few more of the small ones to use for my needle threader, and the end of the zipper on my tools case.

I saw this Brenda Stofft canvas on Facebook and feel in love with it. See taking this to an embellishment class. The possibilities are endless.

Working on the Tudors tonight.

Off to clean up after Jake.

Clara Completed

Just finished this little nutcracker Clara. My second finish of the year, I am pleased to have worked this with a lovely stitch guide by Robin King that from our March canvas embellishment class at Stitch by Stitch.

I am going to make both of these nutcrackers into pillows. Can't wait to drop them off for finishing.

Hope everyone had a great Mother's Day.

Back From Finisher

I just picked up the first Heritage II club ornament that I had sent in for finishing.
This canvas is by Kelly Clark with stitch guide by Alison Hodgkiss. I am thrilled with the way it came out. I added the ribbon when I got home but have to look for better shades of red and green and would like ribbon with wire.

Front view of ornament.

Back of ornament.

Wishing everyone a wonderful Mother's Day surrounded by family and hopefully you will find time to stitch.

Box from Amy

Jake and I always get excited when a box from Amy's arrives. Jake carries the box in saying he got a box from his friend Amy. He runs for his scissors to help open the box and then the fun begins. Today's box had some wonderful magnets and the new book by Little Shoppe. I only had a chance to glance at it and am looking forward to spending time with it tonight.

I love the pig, red shoes, Kreinik gold but the thimble is my favorite

The box also had some canvases but they are for another day.

The Flurries Arrived

Mother's Day came early this year with the arrival of the Flurries. I saw this canvas stitched on Facebook and immediately knew I had to have it. This is canvas is by Rebecca Woods and is an exclusive to Nashville Needleworks with stitch guide by Connie Camp. It is 10 inches round and Nashville Needleworks is planning on making it into a snow globe with a custom made wooden base. Cannot wait to see the finished project.

This is definitely going into my stitching rotation. I can see leaving it out all year on a shelf in my sewing room.

Off to work on the Tudors.

Royal Pain In The Tudors

My special notebook for the Tudors arrived today

It is very regal looking for this special Home Study.

I am progressing very nicely so far. I have the three white and gold bands completed and am on step four of the composite stitch for the red area. This stitch has six steps. Amy always amazes me with her creativity but this Home Study is really over the top. I am totally addicted to stitching this piece.

So far this week we are zero out of four days for naps. I guess Jake's napping is over. There goes my cleaning and stitching time. He would nap for two to two and a half hours. I would get a lot accomplished during that time now it has to wait until he goes home. Only seven weeks until summer vacation, I cannot wait

Three New Canvases

The UPS man just delivered these wonderful Halloween canvases by Brenda Stofft
I ordered them from Chapel Hill Needlepoint when they were having a Brenda Stofft trunk show. I also ordered the stitch guides and wagons for each canvas. I will have to wait awhile for the guides and wagons since they are on back order.

Hopefully Jake will nap today so I can get some stitching in this afternoon. I am working on my sixth egg and the Tudors. I am so enjoying stitching the Tudors. I look forward to stitching this piece every night. Amy has really created a masterpiece with the Tudors.
