This is a picture of all the presents that arrived from Amy's. I did not know what to look at first. So many wonderful things. All the evertites are for The Thanksgiving House. Also received the first lesson with guide and threads for the House. Amy sent us a beautiful magnet as a thank you for participating in the Thanksgiving House Home Study. Cannot wait to get started but it will have to wait until Monday when I get home from Baltimore. Also in the box was the last lesson for The Christmas Banner. I got the third Fairy Tale Witch, Luella, along with guide and threads. I also got the &More canvas Stitch, Eat, Love - stitch guide and threads to come. I also got accessories - embroidery serrated scissors and the leaf thread pallet from Amy. I am so upset that I am not going to have time to play with and enjoy all my new treasures since I am leaving for Baltimore tomorrow. I will have a lot to entertain me next week. I have the week off from Nana Day care so I will have time to play. Forgot to mention the Back to Basics DVD. I might take them with my portable DVD player to watch at night with Karen.

Preparing Canvases
Today I decided to prepare the canvases for the Thanksgiving House Home Study. The first lesson should be arriving this week. I decided to sew seam binding on the canvases rather then tape them. It took me awhile to figure out how to thread the sewing machine. I have not used it for a very long time. Once I finally got it running putting the seam binding on the canvases was very easy. As you can see, I used seam binding to match the green in the canvases. I also sewed taped on the canvases for my birthday celebration in July.
The sewing machine is now away until next time I put seam binding tape on a canvas.
On Friday, Karen and I will be traveling down to Baltimore for a well deserved needlepoint adventure. On Saturday, we will see what new needlepoint shops there are and on Sunday we will take a canvas embellishment class with Julia Snyder at Bedecked and Beadazzled to help celebrate its anniversary. Looking forward to seeing Ruth and all the wonderful things she has to tempt me with.
I am still working on Jake's cars just have some beading and tires to do.

Atenti Caddy Bag
I just got my new Atenti Caddy Bag. I now have a small bag to put all my threads and stitch guide in for the current project I am stitching. There are pockets on both the inside and outside of the bag. Great for scissors, laying tool, needles, etc. This bag works great for me since I watch Jake and cannot leave my things out in my sewing room. I am so organized with my new bag.

Fobs and Magnets
I made the Thanksgiving scissor fob for both the Thanksgiving House and my class in May with Amy. I will be working on the Thanksgiving March by Tapestry Tent. I got the acorn magnet, by Elizabeth Turner, to use with both canvases.
The ladybug fob is for the class I signed up for at Seminar. I signed up for the Ladybug Teapot by Sandra Arthur. Hopefully, I will get into the class. I got the ladybug magnet, by Mag & Friends, for this class.
I like to have my fob and magnet coordinate whenever possible to the canvas I am working on.
Not a lot of stitching has been done this weekend. My new iPad arrived on Friday and I have been playing with it.
We also erased everything off my old iPad so we could download all of Jake's apps to it. Now Jake has his own iPad and Nana has hers. Hope to get some stitching done tonight.
Tomorrow I will post a picture of my new needlepoint accessory.

Another Insert for my Lee Bag
Just finished up this new insert for my Italian leather Lee bag, just in time for pansy season! I picked this up at my LNS last year; it's not a Lee canvas, but when I saw it I thought it would be perfect for my "carry around" project (ie, basketweave only), & it would make a perfect insert for my bag. I think this is just so pretty.

Jakes Birthday
Here are a few pictures of Jake at his party. The picture of the little girl with him is his girlfriend. Look how lovingly he is looking at her. Sophie's mother and Jen, my daughter, knew each when they were in grammar school and met in the park one day last year and it has been love for both Jake and Sophie ever since.

Perpetual Calendar
I received my perpetual calendar from A Stitch in Time. The calendar was the gift for completing the flowers club. I have now received all 12 Raymond Crawford flowers, although I have only stitched 7 of the 12 in the series. I could not resist having the canvases I stitched up blocked & matted. Despite all rules to the contrary, these flowers will be under glass.
I thought this was a fun club, with some cute stitch guides by Alison Hodges, the shop owner. I have always been fascinated by perpetual calendars & I am glad to have one to hand down.

Wonderful Morning With Denise
This morning Denise and I went to the bead store in the City. What a wonderful time we had! First I had a wonderful time because I got to spend alone time with Denise. We normally are in a group environment and do not get to spend time together but today we were all by ourselves and really had a fun time. The bead store was totally amazing. I could have spent a fortune but held myself back. I got beads for two projects. I am making four Thanksgiving fobs for the Thanksgiving House and one ladybug fob for the class I will hopefully get into at Seminar. I signed up for the Ladybug Teapot taught by Sandra Arthur. I hope to get to my beading either tonight or tomorrow and will post pictures.

Jake And The iPad
Sorry I have not posted for awhile but I am waiting to finish Jake's cars before putting a picture up. I have not had a lot of time for stitching. I have been busy with Nana DayCare and medical appointments.
Jake has taken over my iPad. I have downloaded apps for him and he loves playing with them. He has three that are his favorites. He loves his car racing, alphabet and dinosaur apps.
I was given an Apple gift card at Christmas by Jen for the New iPad and ordered it yesterday. Now Jake will have my old iPad for himself and I will now have one for myself. I do not like to share. The things we do for our grandchildren.
Today is Jake's second birthday. It is had to believe that he is two already. Tonight we will have pizza and ice cream cake for him. Tomorrow he will have his birthday party at Gymboree with 14 friends. I will take lots of pictures to bore you all with.
I hope to post a picture of the completed cars very soon.

Cara & Mia at the Table
Done!! A canvas that I started & ended in just over a month! I really had fun with this project. Tomorrow I'll drop it at Stitch by Stitch to be magically turned into a fabulous pillow.
