Portfolio for Needlepoint

When I was in a class in December, I spotted this portfolio that someone had.
Needless to say I had to get all the info on it and the next day contacted Barbara about ordering two of the portfolios. Barbara is a wonderful person to work with.
We spent a lot of time discussing fabrics and what I wanted. I felt her prices were very reasonable and the quality of her work is excellent.

This is the small portfolio

The pocket that has my monogram on it will hold my stitch guide. My canvas will be very secure and safe in this portfolio. I cannot wait to use them. I am planning on ordering some smaller ones for my smaller canvases. I feel that the portfolio
Barbara refers to as small is for medium size canvases so that is why I want to order some smaller ones. She will make any size you want. The two I have are the standard sizes she makes.

Doorway to Springtime

It is frigid here on the East Coast, as it has been for the past week. We had an easy winter last year, so the cold & snowflurries are not unexpected, but....

Oh well. Can't control the weather. But, I can stitch, & this canvas reminds me that Spring will arrive....eventually.

I am so pleased to have finished this pretty canvas. This was in my stash, & in fact had come with a stitch guide. I decided to send it to the Master, Tony Minieri, for last fall's class, as I knew he'd come up with some excellent ideas. Naturally, he did not disappoint. After the class was done, I decided to finish this before going back to the Thanksgiving house.

I loved this canvas when I saw it; the findings for the doors just make it so fun. Tony used fabulous silk threads, & great stitches for texture throughout. And of course the silk ribbons for the flowers, including using different sizes of ribbon for perspective.

I'll be back to the House now.

Another Egg Finished

Last night I finished my second egg from The Needle House club From Russia with Love. These eggs are very addictive. You cannot get enough. I have been needing immediate gratification and these eggs are fulfilling that need.

This is the first egg in the series but I stitched it second.

The missing beads for the second egg arrived so now I have two completed eggs.

My third egg arrived last week and last night I put it on stretcher bars. Hope to have it completed by next week. I would like to send the three completed eggs for finishing with the hope of seeing them for Easter. I know the odds are not in my favor of getting the finishing back in time but I can always hope.

Another Finish Almost

I put the last bead in last night on my first finished egg. I love this club offered by The Needle House. They are the perfect size and finish up quickly. I love all the gold work and beads. This egg is not totally finished since I still have a few beads to put on it when they arrive. Off to start my next egg which is actually the first in the series.

You can see where the beads are missing on the large gold band.

As soon as I finish this next egg, I plan to send them off for finishing with the hope of having them back for Easter.

My hands are feeling a little better. They are not cramping up as much. Have been doing exercises that you all sent me and some from my trainer. It seems to be helping. Thank you for all your help.

A Bit of Progress in the New Year

A happy 2013 to all our stitching buddies.

Here's a photo of the progress I've made on the canvas I worked on with Tony Minieri in our class at Edwardian Needle in December. I have finished the back wall & the shutters. In working on this canvas, I realize that I seem to like scenery canvases best....

I think I'm going to stick with this canvas & maybe try to finish it before I go back to the Thanksgiving House. I've learned something about myself from working on that project too; it's a bit overwhelming to me, as I am not too fond of jumping from project to project.

Wishing us all peace, health & happiness in the new year.

First Finish for 2013

Last night I finally finished my first ornament for 2013. Stitching is slow going since I am having a lot of problems with my hands. Finally realized I have carpel tunnel in both hands. There are times I cannot even pick up a needle to stitch thus the reason everything is taking me so long to stitch. I know I have to go and see someone about this but am not ready to hear the word surgery.
