A Little Nutcracker Arrives with the Easter Bunny

Here is my first finish of 2013. This little nutcracker was in my stash & Robin King worked up a stitch guide for a canvas embellishment class at Stitch by Stitch. I've so enjoyed working on this; robin really had some creative thoughts & I especially love the jacket. I plan on making this into a pillow rather than a roll up, as I have no Christmas pillows.

Funny that I finished this Christmas ornament on Holy Saturday, just hours before Easter. Wishing all a happy Easter, & hope all have enjoyed the Passover holiday as well.

Ok, off to watch the end of The Ten Commandments, one of my favorite movies. I used to watch it every year with my dad.

Easter Bunnies and Jake

Here are my two of my favorite bunnies. They are by Needle Deeva with stitch guides by Debbie Bowers. They just make me happy.

The tree is from Pier 1 and the eggs are from Pottery Barn.

Now for some pictures of Jake.

This bunny had absolutely no personality. He just sat there and never looked at any of the children who sat next to him. He never had them sit on his lap or put his arm around them. I do not know where they got him from but he was just a blob.

Jake even had to take his own ears out of the basket.

He is such a happy little boy.

On Sunday Jake went for tea to celebrate his mother's birthday.

Jen and Jake. The tea place they go to is like Alice in Wonderland and all the children get fairy wings and sprinkled with fairy dust.

Two More Finishes

The second Heritage II ornament is complete. This is a Kelly Clark canvas with stitch guide by Alison Hodgkiss of A Stitch In Time.

These ornaments are a quick and fun stitch.

The fourth egg is just missing two beads that I am waiting for to complete it.
This canvas is by A Collection of Designs with stitch guide by Nancy Laux of The Needle House.

Love stitching these eggs. Nancy diagrams out the gold work for you so it always comes out perfect.

On to my next ornament and egg.

Fun Day with Robin and Finishing

Yesterday was a great stitching day. Robin King came to Stitch by Stitch in Larchmont. Robin is a very talented stitcher and teacher. We all learned a lot of new techniques, and stitches. What a fun day we all had. Robin was very willing to share her needlepoint knowledge with us and we all learned a lot from her. I am looking forward to my next class with Robin.

As you can see, not a lot of stitching was done on my canvas. I learned so much and was too busy listening and making notes. Great class!

I was happy that my Keep Calm and Wait for Santa had just come back from the finisher. I am thrilled with the way it came out.

Santa Ornament Finished

Here is my finished Santa Face designed by Ann Hanson for Barbara's Needlepoint.
I thoroughly enjoyed stitching this canvas and look forward to stitching another Ann Hanson canvas maybe one of her bunnies.

Think I will have him finished on a stick with a base. Have an idea in mind and need to discuss it with the finisher.

My next egg is ready to go. Hope to start it tonight.

This weekend I have a class with Robin King at Stitch by Stitch in Larchmont.
Really looking forward to a relaxing day learning and stitching on Blue Vase with Flowers.

Will have a lot to show and tell next week.
