Lots of Stitching and Finishing

I have been busy trying to get all my Christmas projects done before the deadline for
finishing.

This is Jake's caroler from Sew Much Fun.

This is Emma's Caroler.

Some finishing. The stocking is a Kelly Clark canvas and the Santa is a
Debbie Mumm canvas for Melissa Shirley.

I am still trying to finish up a few more ornaments before the deadline.

Tomorrow is Emma's Christening. Will post pictures for you all to see of my precious
grand daughter. Jake is a really good big brother.

Hope Everyone Had A Wonderful Mother's Day

I had a great day with Jake and Emma. They bring such joy into my life.
Jake is adapting pretty well to Emma's presence. Most of the time he is a very loving and protective big brother. Emma is a really good baby. She is taking good naps during the day. She goes down at seven for the night and wakes up around midnight for a bottle and does not get up until seven in the morning.

Jake and Emma look like they are having a conversation.

Jake is getting ready to kiss Emma.

Emma at 10 weeks old.

Emma in her beautiful dress. This outfit was a gift from my dear friend Karen. Unfortunately, it was too big for Easter so Emma wore it for Mother's Day. It also has a matching sweater but it was too warm for it. We plan to have Emma wear it after her Christening. Emma will be wearing Jen's Christening gown and we will change her into this fabulous outfit before we go to the restaurant.

I finished the Sew Much Fun Caroler for Jake. Now onto stitching Emma's.

I thought I was going to be on vacation since Jen is home but that has not been the case. I have less time for myself now. I either go to Jen's to watch Emma or she brings her to me. Jake wants his time too so we set up Nana and Jake play dates.
So I have one or both just about everyday. I have not had much time to stitch. I had such great stitching planned but it will have to wait. Before I turn around Emma will be turning 4 like Jake and be going to school full time and not have time to see Nana.
I want to cherish every moment before they get to big and do not want to hang out with Nana. I will have plenty of time to stitch then.

New Addition To Our Family

On March 23 Emma Lynne made her entrance.

Emma was in NICU for two days due to low sugar levels.

Emma getting ready to come home. My mother made this sweater for Jennifer when she was born, Jake came home in it from the hospital and now Emma.

Jake and Emma bonding.

Jake is enjoying being a big brother.

Jen signed Jake up for an Easter Cake baking class. He had a great time.

Here is a picture of my current needlepoint project. This one is for Jake and I have the girl version for Emma.

Wishing everyone a very Happy Easter.

Another Finish

I am having a real problem being able to post on the blog. Have been working on either getting a new app or trying to fix the present one.

This fun sock is a Kelly Clark canvas and is the first one in a club being done by Family Arts.

More Finishing For 2014

I have been stitching on some smaller pieces since I feel the need for immediate satisfaction.

Here are three fun hearts from Associated Talent. The French Knot wrote guides for them.

Pretty witch was a fun canvas to stitch. The canvas is by Shelly Tribbey. Betty Scanlon one of the owners of Stitch by Stitch in Larchmont gave me some stitch suggestions and the hair was one of them.

Jake all dressed up for his school picture.

I will be very busy for awhile since our second grandchild is due to arrive soon.
Will let you know as soon as the baby arrives.

Last night I finished this pear from The French Knot Kelly Clark Pear Club.
This is a wonderful club. Love all the pears.

I followed the stitch guide except for the flowers and leaves. I did Spider Web Roses and the Leaf Stitch for the leaves.

Progress On Christmas Village

I am having such a good time stitching this fun canvas. Ruth Schmuff owner of Bedecked and Beadazzled is doing a fabulous stitch guide for this Melissa Shirley canvas. So far we have gotten two lessons - the sky and one house - beautiful stitches, great choice of threads, beads and embellishments.

An overview of the whole canvas.

A close-up of the first house.

This is a Mystery Class with a Twist. Lessons come about every three months and you can sign up at anytime.

A Finish to Start 2014!

I finally finished a canvas! It seems like it's been so long since I've actually finished something, I must admit. I've been busy all around, as are we all. And then there's been knitting, another obsession....

This was really a fun project to work on. I took this class at The Enriched Stitch--two Saturdays in November. Really had a good time. The background stitch..easy...the beaded berries...such fun...the basket...with the ribbon--incredible ideas!

Suzie Vallerie did a great job with the stitch guide--creative, with just the right amount of challenge.

All the best in 2014.

Merry Christmas

Hope you all are having a wonderful Christmas. I have a few minutes before everyone arrives so I wanted to wish you all very Merry Christmas.

All of Santa's presents are under the tree waiting for Jake's arrival. Jake was a very good little boy so Santa was very good to him.

Cannot wait to see his face.

One of my presents - I will be taking this class at Enriched Stitch in Wilton, CT taught by Susan Portra. So excited! I love this piece. Class is April 27 and 28.

Snow Day

We are having about three to four inches of snow today. All the schools are closed, so
I am spending my day stitching. I am working on Melissa Shirley's Christmas Village. Ruth Schmuff is doing this as a Mystery Class With A Twist. I am having such fun stitching this piece.

The blue of the sky is almost done.

Here are some pictures of my Christmas decorations.

My Christmas tree - this year a lot of needlepoint ornaments have been added.

The mantel with my Kelly Clark Nativity with stitch guide by Amy Bunger.

Some pictures of Jake with Santa. Nothing like seeing Christmas through the eyes of a child.

What Has Linda Been Doing?

I am so sorry that I have not posted in awhile. Time just seems to go by so quickly lately.

Karen and I went to Memphis in the beginning of November to visit with Amy and Jill but to also do Rent Amy Days. What a fabulous time we had. We had never done Rent Amy Days before and did not know what to expect. We were both blown away by what we learned and came home with. We went with canvases we knew we wanted help with.

I wanted help with a stitch for the lace on my Nutcracker by Sandra Gilmore.

Amy graphed out the perfect stitch for the lace.

I also brought with me Kelly Clark's "HO HO HO" canvas and asked Amy for stitch suggestions.

Amy drew out the areas with stitch and thread suggestions. Graphs for the stitches were printed out and threads pulled.

I have stitched the bottom border and started the background.

Amy also did a "guide" for the Pink Topiary by Kelly Clark.

I have not started this one yet.

Amy told us that she was ours for the weekend and we were to tell her what we needed and she would accommodate us. It was a wonderful fun, relaxed learning experience. Amy did demonstrations of different techniques, explained when to pad with felt, cotton or bead and shared her knowledge on so many different techniques. We learned so much. I highly recommend doing a Rent Amy Day - we are already booked for next year.

Latest Project

I have been working on the wonderful canvas by Raymond Crawford for the past two weeks. I am thoroughly enjoying stitching it. I ordered the stitch guide and threads and accessories from Needle Orts in Altamonte Springs, Florida. They did an absolutely fantastic stitch guides for all three of the trains.

Here is the Engine of The Boo Express. I have to stitch the background which will have Ghost Tracks for under the Wheels and a wonderful darning pattern for the rest of the background. I also have to put in the spider's eyes and mouth and a fabulous ribbon accessory in the yellow area.

Here is some finishing that came in last week.

Three Kathy Schenkel star ornaments and Kelly Clark pear ornament.

The back of the ornaments.

Stay tuned for the big finish of the Engine.
